Thermax Marine Panels Provides Fireproof Marine Panels and Decorative Paneling

Marine Paneling for Preventative Fire Protection

Fire Resistant Marine Boards

Thermax marine panels are certified ISO, FTP Code and IMO and the choice of marine architects and designers worldwide.

Thermax marine boards are used for decorative fire rated walls, linings and ceilings in accommodation areas and public spaces on all types of seagoing vessels and offshore platforms.

Thermax boards meet all relevant requirements for fire protection regulations according to SOLAS, which requires noncombustible construction materials in accordance with the FTP Code for interior outfitting and for furniture in certain areas.

Our materials are in full compliance with all fire protection requirements for the safety of passengers and crew onboard ships and offshore facilities.

Thermax boards are made from vermiculite (aluminum-iron-magnesium-silicate), a natural inorganic mineral belonging to the mica-minerals group. Raw vermiculite is exfoliated by a high temperature heat treatment in the production process and expands to a lightweight aggregate which is blended with inorganic binders and pressed to form boards.

The boards do not contain asbestos (asbestos-free report asbetos free) or other mineral fibers and are non-toxic.

Marine Board Vermiculite

The raw material for Thermax Fire Protection Boards is vermiculite, a silicate mineral of the mica group that has a layered internal structure. When it is shock-heated to about 1000 °C, the water trapped within the material evaporates, disrupting (exfoliating) the structure so that the volume increases many times over.

Because it is natural in origin and harmless in terms of environment and health, vermiculite is used in many diverse applications ranging from thermal insulation to animal feed additives.
